Her heart thumped against her ribs. "What?"
"We'll do the ritual, but on my terms."
She wished he wasn't so tall. It gave him an unfair advantage, being able to tower over her like this. It was hard to breathe, hard to--
"What do you mean, your terms?"
"Do you want to know a secret?"
Her blood was rushing in her ears. She couldn't speak.
He slid an arm around her waist and pulled her hard against him. She gasped, as shocked as if she'd stepped into icy water. She felt his strength, his power, and for a second her own power seemed to desert her. He bent his head close to hers. "I want you," he whispered.
Her face flamed, like a teenager's.
"I've wanted you from the first moment I saw you," he said, and now his lips were on her throat, at her pulse point, against her collar bone.
She opened her mouth but no words came out. Her eyes closed and her head went back, and he kissed his way up her throat, to her ear, and then he was whispering to her again.

Just what I was hoping for : Taming the Vampire: A Paranormal Romance Novella (Blood and Absinthe, Book 1)
Summary:
I won't give a summary because Lady Raven Rave's brief summary is good enough. But the story though short is absolutely entertaining.
My Opinion:
*Maybe a few Spoilers...*
When Lady Raven Rave put that only the two main characters could say "I hate you" and make it sound sexy she was right, but I'll also add funny. The characters within the story are well-rounded while not being over-done. In not having Jack be too arrogant when internally thinking and Liz too much of a bad-ass or a scared girl out prove she was bad-ass, the author allowed you to like the characters in a fresh and normal way. Through the thoughts, banter, and dialogue (whether internal or external) a "humanly" normal side to both Jack and Liz was shown. That is something I personally like to read in a character.
The storyline is funny, well written, and good. I wasn't so sure when I saw the first page of the story, but as I continued reading it I saw it actually was written good, and that isn't always often when you find a story this short or for 99 cents.
Ratings:
Entertainment- 5 stars.
Humor-- 3 � stars.
Dialogue-- 4 stars, for the witty and comical, but natural banter and talk.
Internal Monologue-- 5, for its naturalness and singular characterization.
Plot and Storyline-- 4stars.
Overall-- 4 � stars.
